The
federal government said it has completed a design to commence mass housing
units in all the six geo-political zones of the country.
Declaring
open the 9th edition of Architects Colloquium in Abuja yesterday,
the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola stated that the
projects would commence as soon as the 2016 budget is passed into law.
Represented
by Arc Sani Gidado, a Director in the Ministry, Fashola explained that the
projects were designed to suit the geographical as well as location of the
zones.
The Minister lamented that past mass housing units in the country were built
without considering environment and locations to suit the people.
